Some participation is required of all members in order to have and maintain a cohesive, organized, and productive art group. Active and contributing artists are essential. Below are two categories; required minimum participation and optional but recommended participation. Please read through these lists carefully if you are considering membership.
•Required Minimum Participation
-Be an artist who is actively creating new artwork
-Show art in a least one of the two group GVA shows per year
-Contribute to meetings and email communications when group exhibits are being organized
-Assist in the hanging and/or preparation of all group shows in which your artwork is included
-Prepare your art for exhibits with either frames or finished edges for a professional presentation
-WIRE all art to hang, with wire securely attached to both sides of the back. No other form of hanging art will be included in a group exhibit with the exception of fabric art.
-Art is limited to anything that can hang securely on a wall (2D or 3D relief)
-Supply your ART TAG information by the deadline provided for each show
-Each artist is responsible for the drop-off and pick-up of their work in all exhibits
-Exhibit different artwork in each group show (do not put the same art in back-to-back group shows)
-Share the cost of marketing group exhibits in which your artwork is included (around $5 per show)
-Share the cost of reception items--usually means bring a beverage and a snack to group exhibits in which your artwork is included
•Optional but Recommended Participation

-Attend solo art receptions for GVA members
-Have an online gallery of your artwork using any of the free or pre-paid sites available. Assistance is available if needed.
-Post a link to the GVA website on your personal website, blogs, etc.
-Participate in group meetings and gatherings
-Organize at least one gathering per year pertaining to art such as viewing, making, inspiring, discussing topics, etc. This can be as simple as setting a time and location to meet for a group hike, gallery walk, art flick, etc.
•Loss of Membership Status
-Not meeting the required minimum participation listed above. We understand there are circumstances where inactivity is acceptable and supported, therefore this will be judged on an individual basis.
-The founding members maintain the right to question and/or terminate the membership of individuals who are deemed unaligned with the mission of GVA in creating, sharing, and supporting the forward momentum of the group and fellow artist members.
